My parents' shop, which runs a vintage shop in Harajuku, has been COCO's home since childhood. I was inspired by the appearance of customers who go there enjoying fashion, and from the age of four, I posted my own styling on Instagram. The post attracts people all over the world, so that a love call saying "I want to meet COCO-chan" reaches her. One of them is Ava Nirui, creative director of Heaven by Marc Jacobs. With the memories of meeting Ava in Tokyo when I was young, I visited a shop cruise on Heaven in "MARC JACOBS" on the 2nd floor of Shibuya PARCO. The world view of the brand, which expresses diversity and freedom, resonates with her personality.

The mysterious MARC JACOBS that spreads out disorderly
"HEAVEN" that continues into space

"Heaven by Marc Jacobs" was launched in September 2020 as a new line for "MARC JACOBS". In honor of the unique DIY spirit and alternative scenes born from it, such as destruction, youth dreams, alienation consciousness, Candy Rei Bar and psychedelic fantasia, neon-colored dystopia, and the euphoria felt in the suburbs that are the source of MARC JACOBS creation, it creates a fashion full of originality. When creative director Ava Nirui visited Tokyo, he sent a love call to COCO (at that time, 6 years old) and met him. I asked Mr. COCO about the episode when I first met her.
"When I was about 6 years old, I started talking about me in American media, and since then many people came to see me. Ava was contacted in the early days. At that time, Ava's Instagram was a very hot topic, and it has a sense of originality, so Heven has become so popular."

A noteworthy new work in Heaven by Marc Jacobs is a collaboration between Blur's Demon Alban and comic artist Jamie Hewlett's virtual band formed in 1998. Gorillaz's animation has been incorporated into Aiko Nic items that symbolize Heaven, such as a fit mini T-shirt and Longus Leave's Hoody.
This time, I took a picture with a styling coordinated by COCO himself. A mini skirt is combined with a hoodie with a Japanese girl "noodle" who speaks Kansai dialect, a Gorillaz member, and it is summarized in a gray tone that gives a vintage feeling.
"Based on gray, I coordinated it to create a fluffy spring-like color. My parents are doing a vintage shop, so I really like coloring with some nostalgic pale colors. I have a lot of favorite colors.……But I always think about colors that I don't like, "How can I coordinate fashionably?" says COCO.

"When I've been working so far, I can't forget about filming with Beyonce's team that took place in Hollywood two years ago. I received a direct appointment from Mr. Beyonce and participated as a model. The professionalism and passion of the staff and everyone in the field are really great, and I'm still in my heart. At first I was very nervous, but I was asked to say gentle words such as "I don't have to be so nervous" or "I'm fine with a smile", and finally I enjoyed shooting very much I was able to do it. There are many people who find me and come to see me from an early age, and shooting with Mr. Beyonce's team.……In the wake of Instagram, there were many encounters that I couldn't usually imagine. For those who support us, I would like to continue on Instagram and grow into a person who can interact with various people in the future while looking for more "personality"."

"Because I'm doing fashion Instagram, I tend to have a cool impression, but when I actually talk, it's something very bright" or "Smile!" I'm often told that (laughs)." My favorite music is K-POP. In particular, COCO, who told me with a smile that I like LE SSERAFIM, looked into a 14-year-old real face. Now I asked what was the driving force behind her, what was interested in, etc.
"Once, the advertisement I've appeared was unfolded on the train. It was a train with friends who went to the same school. "COCO, I saw it when I was on the train!" And I was really happy that my friends praised me. I think the messages received from fans and the impressions of friends are a tremendous driving force. On unplanned days, go shopping with friends or go to eat. I also study at home, and I enjoy my time that I can only do on holidays. Recently, I'm very interested in cooking and flowers. My specialty is omelet rice. I try to make simple things neatly."
