This is the second SS23 collection since Nigo took office as an artistic director. He expanded and refined the world established in his debut collection, further refined the norm of Real-To-Wear philosophy in the brand KENZO, and proposed a more fresh style based on youth-led sensibilities. Many of the motifs incorporated into the collection, such as floral, stripes, and check, which are connected to the history of KENZO flowers, are inspired by the brand archive. "I think fashion is the most essential essence of life. The clothes you wear sometimes convey the personality and way of thinking of the person, so it's very interesting. That's why I think it's really a deep job to express that area in fashion. In particular, in recent years, not only look but also personality and individuality are important for models, so the current challenge is how realistic you can be. It's all about being a UTA, and I feel it's important to be a person in the end while borrowing some kind of image. In that sense, through travel and studying abroad from an early age, I feel that my experience of visiting foreign countries, including Western Europe and the United States, interacting with various races, and touching on their fashion, culture, and thinking has become my strength.
