A collection that combines Nigo’s own roots
This is the second SS23 collection since Nigo became an artistic director. He expanded and refined the world established in his debut collection, refined the norm of Real-To-Wear philosophy in the KENZO brand, and proposed a fresher style based on youth-led sensibilities. Many of the motifs that have been incorporated into the collection, such as floral, stripe and check, combined with the history of KENZO flowers, are inspired by the brand archives. Also, this season, many items with the motif of "elephant", which was Kenzo Takada's favorite animal, also appeared. Inspired by the Japanese DC brand boom in the 1980s when Nigo discovered the brand "KENZO", the casual and pop character labels that were popular in this era and the retro digital feeling of the time are also added, making it a lineup where you can feel the sophisticated street × subculture unique to Nigo.
