When he was obsessed with basketball he started in fifth grade and dreamed of becoming a basketball player, UTA entered the IMG Academy in Florida, United States, at the age of 16, and played basketball for three years.
“It was a school with only real athletes, so it’s natural to work hard. No matter how hard the practice was, I never thought it was painful to play basketball. Of course, there was a pure "body is limit" (laughs). I was very worried at first, mixed with the selected athlete elite. Without fear……It was an unfamiliar world, and how to interact with them at a high level was a big challenge. Still, there was an idea that people have their own paths, so instead of comparing, I thought I would really focus on myself as much as I could ever do here — I am ready. I loved basketball so much, so I think it was something I could do.
Looking back, without those three years, I would not be present. I was very trained not only in the aspect of sports but also mentally. The model is a job that can only be done unless Mental is strong. For example, it is not uncommon to fall into an audition, and there are a lot of dents. Even so, if you don't have a strong feeling of continuing to challenge, that dream will not come true. In a sense, it's like a fight against mental, so some people break there. But I have been learning tenacity in the United States, looking for how to see it interesting even in negative situations, and trying to find a piece that seems a little positive when my heart is down. I think that I was able to move forward positively with the spirit of "anything fun" that my grandmother taught me. I don't think failure is a failure, but I'm grateful. It’s hard, but I think there’s something you can see.”
