Rintaro Sawada | storage

  • LINE
When it comes to pottery and pottery, there is an image of making something.
This "storage" is created by filling the glaze, baking it and crushing it.
Looking at the unexpected colors and shapes of kakera created in this way, I think about the work of volcanic activity and the earth.
It's up to you to decorate, hold, watch, and enjoy yourself.

Rintaro Sawada is a potter born in Iwate Prefecture in 1981. Graduated from Tama Art University's Faculty of Fine Arts, Crafts Course, and currently lives in Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture. Major exhibitions include "Art Fair Tokyo 2011" (Galerie Yukiko Kawase), "Kogei Festival 2020" (Mizusai, Tokyo), and solo exhibition "STORAGE2020" (Shusai, Tokyo). Received the 55th Kanagawa Prefectural Art Exhibition Encouragement Award in 2019.

■From a writer
The fragments of the fragments begins with breaking solid pottery with a hammer.
From there, a "storage series" is born from the large "fragments" that spilled out.
The remaining fine "fragments" are further crushed and collected and reborn as a vessel that colors everyday life.
※Although the front is set, there is no sign to make any front.
