JIL SANDER's new shop will open on March 24 (Fri) on the 1st floor of Shibuya PARCO. Mainly in the collections of JIL SANDER and JIL SANDER+, there are plenty of accessories such as showpieces, Aiko Nic items, T-shirts, sneakers, bags, leather accessories, etc., and creative director Lucy & Luke Meyer collaborated with artists and photographers to develop a collection of photographs that are planned and published every season. The interior reflects Lucy & Luke Meyer's vision and features a vitrin showcase designed in a lattice shape with sand-colored windows that brighten the entire wall inside the store and representative works of the collection. He found harmony in light, color, line, material and perfect rhythms, creating a space where people can relax. When you step into the store filled with natural light, the floor covered with gray natural stones spreads out in front of you, making it a shop where you can enjoy shopping slowly.

"I wear a lot of clothes as a model, but it's quite difficult to meet the 'fitness' that I want. Previously, during my work at MEN'S NON-NO, I had the opportunity to wear JIL SANDER, and the moment I wore my clothes, I felt that it was comfortable to wear. Since then, I have purchased polo and open-colored knits, and I have also used them as personal clothes. Just wearing it makes me feel very good and calm, but I can be very happy. If you express the image of JIL SANDER in a word, you will have a "clean" impression. Sophisticated, pure and nothing unnecessary……In the history of the brand, we have a very purity image of challenging various things in the past, cutting down various things, and leaving only what we need," says Hiyo Miyazawa.

The first men's resort is to California
Positive mood collection

Last year, JIL SANDER released the brand's first men's resort collection (2023). In the collection, the city of Los Angeles, California, was inspired by creative director Lucy & Luke Meyer. While it is a land where the world's most advanced IT companies gather, at the same time, a place where conflicting essences such as hippie culture and glamorous Hollywood fuse—the newness born from it, the endless possibilities like a horizon that has never been seen before, resonate with the Philosophy of the brand called JIL SANDER.

"It's also a city that I often visited when I was young, so Los Angeles is a very interesting place. I felt that the look of the resort collection that I wore in today's shooting was a piece that reminds me of the rich natural scenery unique to the West Coast and the very calm people living there." The look using yellow color palettes, which are surrounded by nature such as yellow, vivid blue like the sky and sea, pink and green, is a nostalgic and new West Coast mood, is a positive collection unique to the resort.

The beautiful and simple blue knitwear worn by Hiyo Miyazawa adds individuality to the silver pins that are layered. Depending on the mood of the day, if you put the pins you choose intuition on a knit or jacket lapel, it will tell you that you will be able to add individuality to your existing clothes and turn into your own clothes.

"Blue is my favorite color. I've always liked blue since I was a child. (Suzuki) Parents who took a picture today said, "Hiyo-kun looks like blue asfinitely as clear." I'm embarrassed to say it myself, but the people around me say that way, so I think it looks blue if I compare myself to color."

This is the starting point of a career
Graduated from the exclusive model of "MEN'S NON-NO"

In 2015, Miyazawa made his debut as an exclusive model of "MEN'S NON-NO" when he was a 21-year-old active college student. "I graduated from MEN'S NON-NO in the issue currently on sale (April 2023 issue). I remember the first shooting clearly. I filmed at Motomachi in Yokohama and the gaijin cemetery in Yamate, but it was really fun, but there was still embarrassment that I couldn't do anything as a model yet.……(laughs). When I picked up a magazine that was released one or two months after shooting, he said, "It's finally started." At this moment, I was prepared to start my career, and when I first received my money, I felt that I had to hone myself and do a job that matches it. On the last day of the filming of "MEN'S NON-NO", I was very impressed by the fact that more than 30 staff members, including the editors who had taken care of me so far, gathered in the studio. I had a sense of accomplishment that I continued the model of this magazine for seven and a half years, and I'm really happy to be able to graduate in a way that everyone can watch over. In front of those who took care of me, I was able to release the last shutter as a mennon model, and I realized that I was really blessed."

When you are struggling and suffering as an expressionist
You can meet a "new self" that you don't know.

"I want to be an actor who established 'Speaking of Miyazawa Ice Fish is such an actor'. The goal is not to imitate someone or to be like someone, but to be an actor who can walk the path on his own. For example, when I have some role and say, "Who is this role?", I have been aiming for an actor who can say, "I definitely want to make Miyazawa ice fish" as much as there are no other people compared."

The performance of Makoto Takayama's novel "Egoist" into a live-action movie (released in February 2023) was highly evaluated worldwide, and Miyazawa won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 16th Asian Film Awards held in Hong Kong in March.

"The movie 'Egoist' is highly regarded as a work and I'm really grateful, but there are conflicts and worries at the shooting site.……It was very painful. It was a task of putting pressure on myself more and more. I don't think pain is always the right answer in making roles or acting.……One thing I can say is that when I'm suffering, I can meet myself that I didn't know before. Are you yourself ahead of suffering?……It may be a self-defense to overcome that pain, but when it comes to what to do to protect yourself who is suffering, do you not have before come to salvation? I feel that a discovery like "I was like this" comes out when I'm suffering."

For this shoot, starting from the scramble intersection in Shibuya, passing through the center street and Spanish hill to Shibuya PARCO.……It is a fashion story set on the street of Shibuya. Finally, I asked Mr. Miyazawa's memories of Shibuya.

"Shibuya is a city that I often came to as a child. When I enter junior high school, I play with my friends mainly in Shibuya. Bowling at a bowling alley near the Ginza Line, play table tennis, billiard and return.……I was having a very student-like play. So when I come to Shibuya, I remember when I was a student. Also, yesterday, I went to Shibuya to search for records (laughs). When I casually listened to the record on a record player I had on a TV program before, it was very good! Since then, I've been interested in records. Yesterday, I wanted a Harry James record that I couldn't buy because it was sold out, so I happened to find it in the Union Record on Shibuya PARCO B1F that I visited the first house. "Ah!" And I got a lot of tension (laughs)."
