You have the power to turn dreams into reality.
Clothes for Strength Romanticists

The fashion brand "HAENGNAE" debuted in August 2021 with the concept of "clothing for 'strong romists' who value the philosophy of 'love', including the spirit of self-love, and live strong with intelligence and courage, rather than being accepted by anyone. The design is based on Anna Choi, a Korean citizen who grew up in Japan. He studied fashion design in Japan and won the Kobe Fashion Contest Special Selection in 2017 while studying at Bunka Fashion College, and studied at Nottingham Trent University in England as a special student. After graduating, the haute couture collection announced at Graduate Fashion Week was published in industry magazines such as VOGUE TAIWAN, attracting attention, receiving offers from multiple maisons, but returning to Japan with the aim of launching his own brand. The brand name "HAENGNAE" is derived from Anna's Korea name. He develops unique clothes that combine New York's free expressiveness, Japanese craftsmanship, European haute couture techniques, and his own identity.

The ballet dancer Nomi Iijima was appointed as a visual model for the second season, "Creation. 02" of the Spring and Summer Collection in 2022. This is the second time that Iijima played the HAENGNAE muse in this filming. "HAENGNAE is a woman who has the power to fulfill her dreams in reality—a woman image called 'strong romist', and the way she lives resonates with the HAENGNAE muse," says designer Anna.

The power of "red" that expresses passion and love.
Color palette that spins the story of HAENGNAE

From the first season, HAENGNAE has released a collection centered on three color palettes of red, black and beige. Red is passion and love, black is strength, and beige that gently wraps them. In this filming, Iijima wore a passionate and sweet red dress. A design that emphasizes the constriction of the waist, bottoms with a voluminous layering - a dramatic dress that has the power to transform everyday life into extraordinary things, but in fact, bottoms can adjust the silhouette according to the body shape, pursue comfort, etc.…Even if the body shape of the wearer changes, there are many ideas that can be loved for a long time. "The clothes are changing quickly over the season, and clothes six months ago tend to be regarded as 'old'. HAENGNAE is not the case, but I would like to propose that both the present and the old ones are the same, and that I can enjoy dressing while consistently spinning stories." (Designer Anna)

"HAENGNAE clothing is characterized by a voluminous silhouette rather than stressing feminineness.…I think it's a brand that expresses what designer Anna likes and what he wants to make in good faith. In that sense, I think Anna's way of life itself is a woman who embodies the brand."

POP UP unified in red color
Enjoy an unknown space with all five senses

HAENGNAE POP UP will be held at Shibuya PARCO from February 2nd (Thu) to February 14th (Tue). In connection with the Valentine season, we focus on the color "red" that the brand values, from interior walls to floors, mannequins, and clothes.…The world where the rice is unified in red spreads.

"Red is a color that varies depending on the viewer's emotions at that moment and the environment at that time. For me, red is a symbol of love and a color that expresses passion, but by turning the entire POP UP space, including clothes, red, I am really looking forward to seeing what kind of feelings will be brought back to those who come home. From new works to past archives, we also have a lineup of red items that have not been commercialized until now. HAENGNAE strives to create clothes that make you want to keep in closet and want to entrust to someone who is important, so I hope it will be a place where you can find such a piece."

Color that attracts Nozomi Iijima

Even in ballet, there are many performances using red costumes. Kitori of "Don Quijote", "Esmeralda", "Harerkinada", "Sleeping Beauty" The Spirit of courage…

"For me, red is a color that symbolizes passion and love. I try to wear red items when I try something new or want to get excited. Try wearing red pumps or red lips - the color you choose when you want to give yourself the power of red, or when you want to be confident."

So, how do you compare yourself to a color?

"If you compare it to a color…I want to be white that dyes any color. I want to play various roles as a ballet role, and I always want to show a different self, so I want to be white. I also want to be a flat person at all times."
