Clothing for “strong romancest”
The fashion brand "HAENGNAE" debuted in August 2021, based on the concept of "clothing for a "strong romanticist" who values the philosophy of "love", including the spirit of self-love, without the aim of being accepted by anyone, and who lives robustly with intelligence and courage." Designed by Anna Choi, who grew up in Japan with Korean nationality. He studied fashion design in Japan, and in 2017, he won the Kobe Fashion Contest Special Selection while studying at the Bunka Fashion College, and then studied at Nottingham Trent University in the UK as a special student. After graduation, the haute couture collection announced at Graduate Fashion Week was published in industry magazines such as VOGUE TAIWAN and received offers from multiple maisons, but returned to Japan with the aim of launching his own brand. The brand name "HAENGNAE" is derived from Anna's Korean name. He develops unique clothes that combine New York's free expressive power, Japanese craftsmanship, European haute couture techniques, and one's identity.
Ballet dancer Nomi Iijima was used as a visual model for "Chapter.02" in the spring and summer 2022 collection, which was the second season. This is the second time Iijima has been working as Muses of HAENGNAE. “HAENGNAE has a woman who has the power to make dreams come true – a woman image of a ‘strong romanticist’, and Momi’s way of life resonates with Muses of HAENGNAE,” says designer Anna.

Color palette that spins the story of HAENGNAE
Since the first season, HAENGNAE has released a collection focusing on three color palettes in red, black and beige. Red is passion and love, black is strength, and beige that wraps them gently. In this filming, Iijima wore a passionate, sweet red dress. The design emphasizes the constriction of the waist, the bottom with a voluminous layering - a dramatic dress that has the power to transform everyday life into extraordinary, but in fact, Bottoms can adjust the silhouette according to the body shape and pursues the comfort of wearing, etc.…Even if the body shape of the wearer changes, there are many ideas that can be loved for a long time. Clothes change quickly with the season, and clothes from six months ago tend to be regarded as 'old'. HAENGNAE is not the case, and I would like to propose that both the present and the old are the same, and that you can always enjoy wearing while spinning the story consistently." - Designer Anna

In connection with the Valentine season, we focus on the color of "red" that the brand values, from interior walls to floors, mannequins and clothes.…A world where the slides are unified to red spreads out.
"Red is a color that differs depending on the viewer's feelings at that moment and the environment at that time. For me, red is a symbol of love and a color that expresses passion, but by turning all the POP UP space, including clothes, red, I am very looking forward to seeing what kind of feelings will be brought back by those who visit. From new works to past archives, we also have a lineup of red items that have not been commercialized before. HAENGNAE strives to create clothes that will make you want to cherish in the closet all the time, and that you want to entrust to someone who is important, so I hope it will be a place where you can find such a piece of clothing.”

“For me, red is a color that symbolizes passion and love. I try to wear red items when I try something new or when I want to get excited. Try putting on red pumps, putting on a red lip — the color you choose when you want to give yourself the power of the red color, or when you want to be confident.”
What if you compare yourself to color?
"If you compare it to color…I want to be white to be dyed in any color. I want to play various roles as a ballet role, and I always want to show myself differently, so I want to be white. I always want to be a flat person.”

Iijima Mochimi
Born in Osaka Prefecture. He started ballet at the age of 6, moved to the United States alone in 2007 at the age of 15, became a research student at the Houston Ballet, and in the following year he became the youngest professional contract ever. In March 2019, he was promoted to the group's principal. After leaving the company in March 2009, he moved his base to Japan. In August of the same year, he joined K-BALLET COMPANY's principal solo list. In March of last year, he was promoted to Principal. He has been appointed Chanel Beauty Ambassador since 2019.
