Kangyo Shimura was born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1956. Graduated from Tamagawa University's Department of Art, Ceramics Course in 1979, and studied under Seto potter, Sho Kato in the same year.
Established Kaiza Kobo in Izu Highland in 1990. Recent solo exhibitions include "Lake Modern" (art space morgenrot, Tokyo, 2022).
"Hongharu Kareki" (Gallery La Leuche, Tokyo, 2021), "Seishu Night Song" (Mori Art Museum Museum Shop, Tokyo, 2021), etc.
Received the Grand Prix at the Ceramics Island AMAKUSA Ceramics Exhibition 2008, and received other awards, International Ceramics Festival Mino,
There are the Asahi Ceramics Exhibition, the Asahi Contemporary Craft Exhibition, the Chunichi International Ceramics Exhibition, and the Contemporary Ceramics "Menbachi Grand Prize Exhibition".
