From high-quality materials, skillful patterns, and careful sewing, "beautiful people" are attractive for making things that Japanese craftsmanship lives. The theme of the Pre-Spring 2024 Collection is “Free from Stereotypes” — free from stereotypes. We have a stereotype image in the brain, such as "UK-like" or "This is the atmosphere of the West Coast," but we propose free creation that can be created by changing the universal perspective. New designs and functionality created by replacing details with different positions and materials, taking advantage of the brand's strength of pattern design. It is a collection that is released from stereotypes and carries new things.

Denim jacket that releases the wearer

The jacket "Lee double-end denim riders/work blouson" worn by Ruki Shiraiwa has an attractive rounded sleeves and a voluminous silhouette, is a collaboration with the denim brand "Lee" with a history of nearly 100 years. Based on Lee's masterpiece "101-J", the design can be enjoyed in 2 ways by incorporating the "double-end" technique that can be worn upside down.
There are plenty of new accessories in the store. We will also pay attention to the shoulder bag and tote bag of the "riders" collection, which has a design that condenses the details of the rider's jacket, and the new sandals in collaboration with the Urban Outdoor Footwear brand "SHAKA".
"Recently, in private, I often wear oversized clothes. The knit hat in today's clothes has a larger design than my head. The pants also like a slightly wider feel than slim. The denim jacket worn by beautiful people today is compact but has a sense of volume.……I thought that the newness that sets the line from the denim jacket is very cute. "I just want small items such as bags in the store to be realistic," says Ruki Shiraiwa.

About irreplaceable time

"If you have ever created something for yourself with your experience so far?……That's a wasteful time. I think everyone has experience, but for example, in junior high school and high school, we gather with friends until late at night to talk unnoticed, or all as a favorite thing. That's when you look at it, you'll be told, "I'm wasting time" or "Study if you have such time." At that time, "What did you get?" When asked, I didn't get anything in particular (laughs). But when I think back now, that time seems to be a very irreplaceable time. It's still a memory that supports my heart when I'm depressed. I wonder if the wasteful time is making myself now."

Shiraiwa's unforgettable scene is also a casual everyday scene of childhood. However, it is firmly connected to his future.
"When I was little, I was dancing and singing with the veranda where no one was on stage. I don't sing to anyone, but while watching the local scenery (laughs). I was doing such a thing and stood on the dome last year. There are family, friends, and people who have taken care of them so far, and there are fans there.……I was very happy to be able to share that space and time with someone who is important to me. When I was singing on the veranda, I didn't think I could be like this. I was deeply moved by the fact that the dream of performing a dome came true and I was glad that I worked hard."

There are two words that support Mr. Shiraiwa's heart. It's "only once in life" and "Let's make a present that won't lose to the past."
"When I'm doing this job, I sometimes feel very nervous. For example, before the dome performance or before the stage of MAMA. But when I remember the word "one time in life", no matter how nervous you are, "one time, so let's enjoy it!" ] I feel like that. Also, when you want to try something, if you don't try it and it's time, you'll regret it, but it reminds you that it's better to try it once.
The word "Let's make a present that won't lose to the past" is the word that appears in the manga "I was there." Motoharu Yano, the main character with deep darkness, said, "If you are so worried, your past will not be rewritten." If so, let's make a present that won't lose to the past, "but that's right." No one can change what has happened anymore. I really like the word "Let's change the present."
