Creative directors Lucy & Luke Meyer, JIL SANDER, continue to explore the possibilities of combining essences that have been considered culturally and formally conflicting. In the 2024 Men's Resort Collection, we proposed a new suit style that blends into everyday life, with the aim of avoiding tradition and further expanding their personal ideas for suits. Combine long pants and shorts with a new silhouette jacket or shirt jacket to create a modern, non-shalan open attiture.

The charm of being “real”

The look worn by Ryosuke Nagaoka, who combines a jacket with a longer shoulder width and length, and a soft and voluminous long pants, combines everyday clothes, elegance, practicality and beauty of tailoring.
“JIL SANDER’s clothes can get a sense of ‘wearing material’. When I actually pass through the sleeves, of course, it is a high-quality and very soft material, but it naturally creates a crisp tension. It’s like a German car.”

About your favorite and color

What Mr. Nagaoka likes. That's a classic car.
"There were a lot of subtle colors in cars in the 60s. Is it green or blue?……It's metallic or pale gold. It has a very beautiful color without hesitation. Those who think I am cool are not cool, honest people. People who don’t show themselves. In the same way, I guess I don't feel the mood for things that are trying to produce color. When you find the darkness, you will feel the best.”

Driving with your favorite car is a happy moment for Nagaoka. In such a case, it seems that the inspiration for the sound will come out unexpectedly.
"The other day, I had a fever and slept for about a couple of days. I was depressed, so I'm fine and drive right away. While driving, I was impressed that I was very happy (laughs). The car moved as I thought, the scenery moved, and a little good wind came in. It was a day-to-day event, but it was a moment when I felt happy. When you are in a car, you may hear some sound in the rhythm. I wonder if I could put that kind of sound into my song.”

"In the world, there is always an idea that 'numbers are all.' As it is when I do music, I always think somewhere, "Let's take care of the parts that are not numbers." People's feelings and feelings……It cannot be measured by measure. If you care about the numbers, you will have no choice but to grow. But human beings are not like that. It tends to be amazing to perform in front of large venues, flashy performances, and tens of thousands of people, but tremendous things can happen in front of a few people. In the past, there was a sudden loss of voice during the live show. I really can't sing. At that time, the guests sang instead. It was a time when there were still few customers, but Oai chanting at a large venue……That's not the case, but I've come again. That was very happy."
