At the B1F "GALLERY X" in Shibuya PARCO, a photo exhibition "Maega Go" featuring photographer Tomoki Kuwashima's partner actor Yumi Adachi is being held until July 12th (Sun). Before and after the photo book "Gaga" (Seigensha), which contains the daily lives of the two people, and unpublished photos are released. "If the photo is gone, the couple will not continue." The word itself echos, but it is essentially healthy happiness to be able to be a special entity that cannot be replaced by someone. When I look at the pictures, the "taker" and the "taker" stand out, so I think each other's individual is clear and comfortable. We talked to two people for the exhibition.

Before and after the photo book "Gaga"
Photographs taken as if breathing
"It's natural to take a picture of her. If you don't take her, you won't be able to live unless you breathe, it won't work," says Kuwashima. They were released in 2019 under the title of the photo book "Gaga", and became a hot topic as a book that spells the daily lives of the two people. The title of this photo exhibition is "Maega Gogo". In literally, photos taken before and after "Gaga" and unpublished works are also released. During the exhibition period, six photos will be added each week, so I want to visit many times. The venue-limited tabloid "Maega Gogo" (right photo) 1000 copies cannot be overlooked.
They are "the closest others."
The challenge of photographers who went beyond the performing arts
The photo that Mr. Kuwashima took to keep a record of the two people became the photo book "Gaga". A couple is by no means one. A story that is spun while two people living in each scenario are together. "Occasionally, they fight and have different values. The couple is a "near other person." It's the beginning that I wanted to record them." It was also a challenge as a photographer. "The theme was how to go beyond 'performing' while taking pictures of the intense subject of actor."

What do you think of "photographing" that lasts almost every day? "For me, it's too much everyday, and the consciousness being taken is zero." There is an expression that can only be shown in the world of two people, which is not shown in "society", which makes us feel relieved. "In the past, I looked at photos and thought, 'I'm going to look like this.' But now I've seen every expression of myself in Mr. Kuwashima's photographs."
In the photo book "Gaga", I had you choose one that remained in my heart. "By the end of February, I'm wearing Setsubun masks for some reason. It's interesting," (Adachi).

"Photo act" for couples.
A silent expression of affection
Photographs that are the means of communication between the two people. The silent act of taking a picture is a certain expression of affection. "If there's a day when Mr. Kuwashima won't shoot me…It may be a time when the couple is no longer in the form of a couple." "In the past, Adachi was on the radio, and when I held my camera, he told me, 'There are things that can be taken like a challenge.' It's like that. That's interesting," (Kuwajima).

Experiments of photographers and couples
Finally, I heard about the highlights of this exhibition. "I don't want to convey the love of married couples. The couple have their own dramas, and I don't know. "I hope you can see it interestingly." "This is an experiment of a photographer and a couple called me. It's interesting because neither the picture nor the couple know. Experiments on the big stage called GALLERY X are very fun." (Kuwajima). "I like PARCO. It's a dream building. "I want to enjoy shopping slowly," says Adachi. In the second part, we will visit a shop where Adachi is paying attention.

Yumi Adachi
Born in Tokyo in 1981. He made his model debut at the age of two, and in 1994 he made a major break in the TV drama "Ie no Kiko". It is supported by fans of all ages. Married with photographer Tomoki Kuwajima after the production of the photo book "Private Life". Last year, Kuwajima released a photo book "Gaga" (Seigensha), which contains everyday Adachi. It captures the appearance of a national actor as it is and resonates. This time, a photo exhibition "Maega Gogo" including photos before and after and after that will be held.

Tomoki Kuwajima
Photographer. Born in 1978, Born in Okayama Prefecture. After graduating from Musashino Art University in 2002, he studied under Kentaro Kamata. Independence in 2004. He is active in a wide range of magazines, talent photo books, and advertisements. In 2013, he published a photo book "Private Life" (Shueisha), which has been taking Yumi Adachi for about two and a half years. After marriage in 2014, he has been shooting Adachi every day.
