At the B1F "GALLERY X" in Shibuya PARCO, a photo exhibition "Mae Gago" featuring photographer Tomoki Kuwashima's partner actor Yumi Adachi is being held until July 12th (Sun). Before and after the photo book "Gaga" (Aogensha), which contains the daily lives of the two people, and unpublished photos are released. The couple said, "If the photo is gone, the couple will not continue." The word itself echoes, but it is inherently healthy happiness to be able to be a special being that does not change for anyone. Looking at the photos, the “taker” and “taker” emerge, so I think each other’s individual is clear and comfortable. We talked to both of you at the exhibition.

Photos taken to breathe
Very natural: “It’s natural to photograph her. If you don't breathe, it won't work if you don't take a picture of her," says Kuwashima, I've been taking pictures every day and every day. They were released in 2019 under the title of the photo book "Gaga", and attracted a lot of attention as a book that spells out the daily lives of the two people. The title of this photo exhibition is "Before I Go". Literally, photos taken before and after "Gaga" and unpublished works are also released. During the exhibition period, six photos will be added each week, so I want to visit many times. You can't miss the 1,000 tabloid "Mae Gago" (pictured right) tabloid limited to the venue.
They are “the people closest to the distance.”
The challenge of photographers who went beyond “entertainment”
The photo that Mr. Kuwashima wanted to keep a record of the two people became the photo book "Gaga". A couple is never one. A story that is spun in the midst of two people living in each scenario. “Sometimes we fight and our values are different. The couple is “near other people.” It was the beginning that I wanted to record ourselves.” It was also a challenge as a photographer. "The theme was how to go beyond 'entertainment' while photographing the intense subject of actor."

I know you look at the photos of Mrs.
What do you think of “photo” that lasts almost every day? "For me, it's too everyday, and the consciousness being photographed is zero." There is an expression that can only be shown in the world of two people, not in the “society”, which makes us surprised. "In the past, when I looked at pictures, I thought, 'I look like this.' But now I see every face in Mr. Kuwashima's photos."
In the photo book "Iga", each one that remained in my heart was selected. "At the end of February, I'm wearing a Setsubun mask for some reason. It's funny." (Adachi)

A wordless expression of love
Photos that are the means of communication between two people. The silent act of photographing is a definite expression of love. "If there is a day when Mr. Kuwashima won't photograph me.…It may not be a couple.” (Adachi) "Adachi-san was on the radio before and when I set up my camera, he said to me, 'There are things that can be taken with the feeling of challenging.' Come on, I guess. That's funny, isn't it?" (Kuwajima)

Photographer's and Couples' Experiments
Finally, I heard the highlights of this exhibition. “I don’t want to convey the love of married couples. The couple has their own dramas, and we can't. I hope you can see it interestingly." (Adachi) "This is an experiment by a photographer and a couple. It's funny because neither photos nor couples know. Experiments on the big stage of GALLERY X are very fun.” (Kuwajima) "I like Parco. It's a dream building, right? I want to enjoy shopping slowly,” Mr. Adachi said. In the second part, we will visit a shop that Adachi is paying attention to.

Yumi Adachi
Born in Tokyo in 1981. He made his model debut at the age of two, and in 1994 he made a big break in the TV drama "Ienakiko". Supported by fans across generations. Married to photographer Tomoteru Kuwajima after the production of a photo book "Personal Life". Last year, Kuwajima released a photo book "Gaga" (Aogensha), which contains daily Adachi. It captures the true appearance of a national actor and resonates with him. This time, we will hold a photo exhibition "Mae Gago" with unpublished photos before and after that.

Tomoteru Kuwajima
Photographer. Born in Okayama Prefecture in 1978. After graduating from Musashino Art University in 2002, he studied under Kentaro Kamata. Independence in 2004. He is active in a wide range of magazines, talent photo books, and advertisements. In 2013, he published a photo book "Private Life" (Shueisha), which had been photographing Yumi Adachi for about two and a half years. After getting married in 2014, he has been photographing Adachi-san every day.
