  • LINE

“SHIBUYA PARCO ART WEEK 2025” brings a new sense to the city of Shibuya. Performing Arts, Installations, Paintings, Videos, Sounds—A different expression responds to each other and reflects the “fliction” of thoughts and emotions. To touch, to listen, to see. Art breaks boundaries and presents new sensibility to the viewer. There are also experiences that resonate with contemporary art fairs, such as "Art Week Tokyo (AWT)" and "EAST EAST_2025 TOKYO", which are transmitted across cities and overseas. This autumn, you will be able to explore the current location of art with curiosity.

GALLERY X BY PARCO| Suspicion and a New Perspective to Sculpture Works: Aiku Kurotaki Sculpture Exhibition

A solo exhibition by Aiku Kurotaki, who won the P.O.N.D. AWARD 2024 Grand Prix, held "Prisoners". Kurotaki sublimates the primitive appearance of us and beings, such as "Existence and Absence", "Micro and Macro", "0 and 1" and "Yes and None" into sculptures using micro-materials called fibers. While traveling back and forth between the multilayered layers between the opposite worlds, he draws doubts and new perspectives on the existence of human beings in today and the world we perceive. In this exhibition, in addition to the masterpiece "Human" series, large-scale installation works will be exhibited for the first time.

Aiku Kurotaki

Writer. Born in 2000. Based in Kanagawa and Tokyo. Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University's Textile Design Department. In April 2024, he held his first solo exhibition at SOM GALLERY. Kurotaki focuses on the modeling of textiles that create a three-dimensional structure by intersecting fibers, and creates three-dimensional works using a combination of warp and weft through manual work. In his masterpiece, "Human" series, by confining humans in a frame composed of regular thread arrangement, we highlight the patterned modern society and human thinking. Through his work, he attempts to highlight the emptiness of modern society and the human perspective that he perceives, and to lead people to freedom from algorithms.

1F ENTRANCE| Respiration of a parallel structure. Kei Uruno asked about the connection between individuals and society

At the front entrance on the 1st floor, three-dimensional works by contemporary artist Kei Uruno are exhibited. This work, which incorporates everyday motifs and mechanical structures and assembles the entire space in a sculptural manner, gives a new rhythm and depth to the entrance connecting the city and the building. The structure of abstractly arranged rooms and the slight changes in the scale suggest the coexistence of "individuals" and "individuals" and the complex relationship with others and society. It shakes the viewer's senses, gives an opportunity to stop in the city, and reconsider itself.

Kei Uruno

Artist. Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1993. Based in Aichi. Graduate School of Fine Arts, Nagoya University of Arts, 2023. After experiencing the casting experience of mechanical parts, he began to develop practice in the art field.
