Morgan Maira Interview

――How did you look at "SHIBUYA PARCO ART WEEK 2023"? Also, what kind of ART exhibitions and performances were impressive?

I didn't know that so many exhibitions were being held, so I enjoyed it a lot. I enjoyed it with different personalities, but the unique exhibition of "TRUNKWARE" that combines African plants and bonsai was also very attractive and interesting. Also, the performing arts (mixed media performance "p. §.") happened to be close to each other, so I was surprised and energetic, and I was drawn in. The last was the scene on the rooftop, so it matched the night view and was very fascinated.

――Morgan Maira is also active as a photographer, but what is the appeal of photography? Also, what kind of moment do you want to leave?

I started taking pictures with love for people, so I think it's one of the charms to be able to leave such memories.

What is often said about my photos is bright, HAPPY or happy. You can receive it with such an image. Based on the fact that I am happy, I am able to express it through filters, so I would like to continue shooting a lot of such scenes and works in the future.

――What are your memories in Shibuya?

When I was a teenager or ahatachi, I met with my best friend from junior high school after my work and errands in Shibuya and went home together. Walk for about 2 hours and talk about various things at that time. It's a youth in me.

I think Shibuya at night is a place where there are many such things as connections with people, encounters, etc. By going to various events and meeting various people, I am very inspired.…I have a lot of memories of Shibuya like that.
