The theme is "Attractiveness, Rediscovery, Restructuring of Nippon"
A shop where you can experience the charm of Japan.

Discover Japan Lab. is a shop linked to magazines that change product lineups and visuals in line with monthly special features, while keeping the world view of the magazine "Discover Japan", which "discovers" the charms of Japan (things, things, places, people). It is a place where you can enjoy the charm of Japan again while enjoying the "impressive experience" that can not be obtained by magazines or digital. The symbolic color of the space is a large table that combines the top plate of Wajima lacquer and the pedestal of Date Kanmuriishi. For more than 200 years in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan uses a unique technique of “lacquer cloth finishing” that creates the strength of the top plate by applying lacquer, ground powder, etc. In addition, the pedestal is a new magnetic field in the space of Shibuya, Shibuya PARCO, and "Discover Japan Lab." by combining the two top plate and the pedestal using stones made over a long period of time on the land of Okurayama, which sank twice into the sea, using magma and plate tectonic.

Being a Japanese really "special personality"
Beautiful island country culture with delicate gradation

UA has left Tokyo about 20 years ago and chose to live in a rich natural environment. He moved to a remote island in Canada seven years ago, and now lives with three children and husbands in a vast nature with forests and fields.

"I realized for the first time that I left Japan that being a Japanese is really a special personality." Canada's history is still about 150 years, and most people are immigrants. Japan has a long history, from food culture to traditional performing arts.…In general, the depth of culture is quite different. In particular, there is a sense of "ki" in Japan, there is a sense that it is transmitted without saying anything, such as the heart of the heart, the breath of Aun. That's the case.…"Ki" is special, and "Ki" is special. Shima-uta's "island" means "village". So, if the island changes, if the village is different, the songs that flow there will naturally change. Japan has a beautiful island country culture with a delicate gradation. This delicate feeling may be related to the seasonal feeling of the Japanese climate and the complexity of the climate."

At the same time as entering the store, UA rushed to "Dharmikuji" saying "I love Daruma!" A one coin lucky items by Shirakawa Daruma Honpo, which has continued since the Edo period about 300 years ago and now manufactures various folk crafts, including Shirakawa Daruma. One by one, a cute palm-sized daruma, elaborately finished by the hands of craftsmen, and a word Omikuji becomes a capsule toy!

Enriching Daily Life
Names carefully selected from all over Japan

The store is lined with selected items filled with the skills and thoughts of the creator, such as depression, sake, craft, fashion, etc. At present, what is displayed on the main table is the display of ceramic artist Shohei Ono, who is now attracting a hot gaze from overseas. In addition to blue ash glaze, Kuroshino glaze, black makeup, white makeup, etc., there are powerful depressions that have the beauty of the soil. UA, who loves cooking, picked up gold mugs by Ryota Aoki, a potter who actively incorporates materials that are not used in conventional ceramics such as gold, silver, platinum, and Swarovski, and black pots from Takaraku Kiln, a potter that has been around since the Edo period in Iga City, Mie Prefecture. And hop doburoku, rice and kouji 02 of the new craft salmon brewery "Rice and Agape" in Oga City, Akita Prefecture. The many gems you encounter in the shop will surely enrich your daily life.

I felt the "blood" that I had taken over.
HORIZON - Horizontal Line I saw on Kakeromajima for the first time

"Amami Oshima Island has my mother's roots, and in my late 20s I visited Amami Oshima Island for the first time. My mother was from Kakeromajima, so stretch her legs so far. When I looked at the sea from the beach of the island, I was very excited. There was something that was not a reason, but something that was surprised. "I am convinced that this view from this point of view is not what I've seen now." I felt that it was a landscape that I knew for a long time. The debut song "HORIZON" (horizontal line), which I released at the age of 23, was written by myself, and at that time, I wrote and sang the scene from Kakeromajima where the horizon could not be seen as if a mist was sometimes blown off at the border between the sea and the sky, as I saw it. "You and I will be one." When I wrote the poem, I liked Godal's movies, and I intended to quote it from the last scene of "Kaddy Piero", but what I wrote in "HORIZON" was "It must be a view from this perspective!" I'm convinced. It was not just a sea for me. Standing on the island, step on the sand…Do you feel the blood that you have taken over? It may have been Shima-uta's roots."
