Based on the concept of “imposing everyday beauty with music and art into our products,” WAYP MUSIC, a label that distributes artists' certified products, will hold a POP UP on the theme of the non-existent music festival “BIRD OF PARADISE’2023” at Shibuya PARCO from June 28 (Wed) to July 2 (Sun). From lock to techno, HIP HOP…This “fictional music festival” is the fourth time this year, where alternative artists with their own worldview participate every year. Exclusive T-shirts featuring unique artists will be exhibited and released.

"UA TEE", reminiscent of an artist T-shirt from the 1980s, is produced in a colorful silkscreen with a moderate vintage feel based on a photo of UA who sang gently at a Tokyo performance at the live "Are U Romantic?" held last year. In addition to UA, "SHEENA & THE ROKKETS TEE" depicting Makoto Ayukawa and Shina in dresses, "OKAMOTO'S TEE" finished in a world tour taste, and "yonawo TEE" depicting a notable four-member young band, in a stylish expression of the individuality of the four artists to feature in a T-shirt that focuses on vintage-like style. “Last year (BIRD OF PARADISE’2022), I made “AJICO Tee” and this year’s T-shirts are even more favorite, and I would like to wear them a lot this summer. I want to wear this T-shirt and go to the festival after all (laughs)," says UA.

"The charm of the festival is the depth of taste that makes you feel like you are in the hall of the earth. I have been taking care of FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL for a long time, but since I moved to Naeba in 1999, I participated in the green stage, experienced various things at the Field of Haven, and I learned a lot about the world view of the festival and the view of music, including the sense of distance from the audience. At one point, I was dancing while watching the stage with my best friend at FUJI ROCK. In the sky, there is a star shining perfectly, “Is that a Scorpio?” When I was looking at the sky with my friend while holding my finger, the shooting star really happened to run through the night sky. When I screamed unintentionally, all the customers who were there seemed to be aware of it, and a loud cheer was raised, "Wow!" Then, at that moment, the performance came in as if to respond to the cheers, and it was very exciting. It is still being handed down in the mania, "The live performance at that time was very valuable." There are various kinds of festivals in urban areas, festivals in nature, etc., but after all, it is a LIVE that vibrates the same air, so it is irresistible that natural phenomena and unexpected things happen there."

I want to use up cleanly and die

UA is celebrating its 28th year of debut this year. With its presence and soulful singing voice, we are healed and fascinated. What is the dream she has as a musician who expresses various expressions through songs? “There is a desire to talk about a big dream.…There were times when I thought it was natural to sing, but I realized how valuable it is to be able to continue singing this way so far. What I think now is how long will I be able to challenge pop music? From a philosophical point of view, I want to use up my life cleanly and die, no matter how thin I die.…I think it would be nice to sing a song. I don't think the world will change by singing. But if we become a world where we can no longer sing songs, then humanity will not continue.”
