Discover Japan Lab., a directly managed store of Discover Japan magazine, is a place where you can experience unique to the store in order to realize the creation of fans of Japanese culture. The store will hold a solo exhibition by Makoto Japanese andromeda, who is based in Kamakura. At the time of the event, we collaborated with Saki Shibata, a model who has long been a big fan of Japanese andromeda's Utsuwa. Under the theme of "ideal breakfast", special models produced by Shibata will be sold one plate, mug, and small bowls. The simple yet adorable Utsuwa is one of the arts that can be incorporated into everyday life. If you color your breakfast time every day, you will surely start a wonderful day.

Makoto Japanese andromeda
Born in Hokkaido in 1964. Graduated from the Department of Ceramics at Tama Art University in 1989. While at school, he produced objects using various materials. In 1994, he started producing Utsuwa. The kiln was built in Ishikawa-cho, Yokohama City in 1997. Moved to Kamakura in 2001. After that, he continued his production in Kamakura. I like sweets and coffee.

Saki Shibata
Born in Aichi Prefecture. It is nicknamed "Shibasaki" and is popular among women of all ages. As a fashion model, it is popular enough to decorate the cover for 12 consecutive months in the women's fashion magazine "mer". He has produced a large number of products, and has appeared in TV commercials in addition to magazines, and is active in a wide range of activities.

The "THE / a Rock Knit" series, in which "beautiful people" incorporates a band's rock T-shirt that we want to connect to the next generation into a knit pattern. This series, based on the concept of "children's clothing for adults," features HELLOWEEN, a treasure of the German heavy metal band world. Born in Fukushima Prefecture. After graduating from Musashino Art University's Department of Basic Design, he worked for a design office and a manufacturer, and has been working as a freelance illustrator since 2020. I try to express a neutral line and shape and a little wolf.

ORIGINATED IN GRACE CONTINENTAL| To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the brand’s birth, we release collaboration goods with painter Reiko Kamano

"ORIGINATED IN GRACE CONTINENTAL" is a limited edition item of "Traveling Grace" in conjunction with the ARTWEEK. This fall, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the brand's birth, we will produce original goods in collaboration with painter Reiko Kamano. Reiko Kamano
After graduating from the Set Mode Seminar, he started running a general store and producing accessories and objects. I started painting in 2016, taking advantage of my experience in studying abroad in Paris, France while studying at school. It expresses the splendor of ordinary life through the appearance of cats and animals.

newstaa| "New Girls Exhibition" introduces a total of 38 next-generation female creators. Feel the “feeling” of the new era

On October 1st (Sat), "newstaa" will be reopened with the concept of "enjoying shopping like seeing art works". With studio BOWL as an interior design and redesigned into a store design full of art, the new Girls exhibition will be held as an opening project, introducing a total of 38 next-generation artists and designers. The image visual was created by photographer Orai Asuka. During the period, many works by new generations of creators, such as HOHOEMI, SHINPIN, Mirai Shoten, etc., have shifted to creations that have been cut into their own interior after the COVID-19 pandemic, will appear. The delicate and dangerous beauty of their creations will surely make you feel the "feel" of the present era.
