Masataka Kubota, an actor who wants to encounter a new world of expression through fashion--a new sensation that can be obtained by wearing clothes, and the potential as an expressionist that guides that sense---especially recently began to be interested in the new world of expression lurking in fashion. As an expressionist, he goes to "UNDERCOVER NOISE LAB" and "TOGA". Both shops, which have a unique avant-garde spirit, resonated with Kubota's personality and created a new chemistry.

With the collaboration wear with the movie "Psycho" directed by Alfred Hitchcock, who is called the emperor of Suspense, UNDERCOVER proposes everyday wear that is an extension of everyday life through UNDERCOVER's unique "distorted viewpoint". A beautiful but somewhat dark world
"UNDERCOVER is one of my favorite brands and has various items. Because the clothes have messaging, it is interesting to wear them.…By wearing it, I feel like I can be different again,” says Masataka Kubota. The setup, with the graphics of the Hitchcock movie worn like a jacquard weaving applique, perfectly blends the boundaries between mode and street, and has a unique world view of UNDERCOVER that is beautiful and somewhat dark.

Touching a different perspective than yourself
How to Wash Sensibility by Masataka Kubota
Mr. Kubota stopped suddenly and did not take his eyes off the book he picked up. The limited edition ZINE "SN" was planned by the production team "UNDERCOVER PRODUCTION" led by designer Shield Takahashi, art director Tetsuya Nagato, photographer Taro Mizutani, and Katsuhide Morimoto. This second issue is based on the theme of “1 Week – 1 Week –” with 17 artists from Japan and abroad, including Rei Kawakubo, Haruki Murakami, manga artist Hoshiyoriko, Swedish painter Markus Åkesson, sculptor Nicholas Shurey, Danish based in Copenhagen, and musician Mars89, contributing in various ways, including illustrations, collages, paintings, photographs, manga, and writing. Kubota says he is not only an actor, but he is currently studying camera. "I'm still studying photography, but I'd like to start a camera with Director Tomokazu Yamada. He’s also a director, and he’s taking pictures and pictures.…It's very interesting to talk because the way things look different. Even if you can share time with such people, your senses will be washed."

Kubota decided that 2022 will be a year to challenge various things, and started Instagram. "I wanted to hear my voice, and I was vaguely hoping to shorten something like a little distance. By starting Instagram, I started to see photos of creators and various people if I had time. This has affected me, and I recently started to be interested in fashion shooting. Fashion is a part of an important expression, but honestly, it's all I don't know. Expressions that enter from fashion…From there, connect to something and derive it. I hope it will lead you to meet people and create work and work.”
