"Kome to circus" focuses on wild birds and beasts and insects that have a head office in Takadanobaba. In anticipation of the food crisis expected in the future due to population growth, insect foods that have less environmental impact than cows, pigs, and chickens, contribute to global warming countermeasures, and also help solve food loss, are attracting attention from the SDGs perspective. Invited by a shady neon reminiscent of the hustle and bustle of Asia, and open the door…You should be able to abandon your preconceptions and experience delicious, fun and diverse food culture. "Insect food is a foodstuff that attracts attention in sustainability. That's why I wanted to eat it all the time. If people around the world replace livestock cows and sheep with a high environmental impact with insect diets, they will reduce the amount of farmland they use and solve the deforestation.” Komai, who had a strong interest in insect food from a sustainable perspective, ate a set of "6 kinds of insect eating comparisons" with coologies, bee children, silkworms, giant mirworms, maggots, and turtles. “The biggest turtle smells like pears! Because it is salted, it is sweet and salty, and it has a texture like eating fish while eating it. Millworm had a fermented smell like cheese, and it tasted like eating fried cheese. Since there is no taste unique to insects, it is easy for beginners to try. Little by little, it tastes different and interesting, and it feels power and energy even though it is small.”

A unique bottle lined up at the counter — “Toast” at “Kome to circus” is standard for nutritional tonic sake using various medicinal and Chinese medicine ingredients that have been popular since ancient times, such as MUSHI sours, hubs, sponges, and scorpions. Mr. Komai ordered winter insects summer grass sake and centipede sake. "The summer grass smells of soil. The centipede has a unique smell, right?…! "I think it's better to eat Gibier only in Japan. For Komai, he told me that "SUPER DOMMUNE" on the 9th floor of Shibuya PARCO was a place for learning and an important place that gave me a chance to grow myself. "When I try new things, I often do them at DOMMUNE, and it's like an experimental field for me. Focused on a single artist and unravel the history of art in that archive…It's a very valuable "audible" content. Because it is a live delivery instead of reading with letters or books, there are quite a lot of spilled stories, and you can also know information that can not be written in books (laughs). New interpretations are born there, and there are discoveries about yourself. Mr. Ukawa (Naohiro) interpreted it. A place where people with different contexts can expand their insights and knowledge. What I am most interested in right now is the project “HYPE FREE WATER.” Water is the root of the life activity of all living creatures. It becomes water vapor, freezing, melting, river, sea, rain.…Does it mean that humans are trying to control? That's very interesting. As an artist, I also want to create various forms of work, and I hope that what I do is multiply it by gradually improving various skills, not just one thing such as dancing, talking, or playing, and doing it. As part of that, I plan to travel to India for a long period of training to study Indian classical music.”
