A space full of inspiration

A glass-filled space on the 1st floor of Shibuya PARCO, which appears when you climb the organ slope. The contemporary luxury brand "BYREDO" POP UP SHOP from Stockholm has opened. I can't help but stop by because of the creative mood. The brand name is inspired by the words "by redolence" of playwright William Shakespeare, known for "Romeo and Juliet" and "The Midsummer Night's Dream". It develops original fragrances, genderless cosmetics, and body care items, and attracts attention to "BYPRODUCT", which is the first landing in Japan. There are a wide range of sophisticated items from leather goods to eyewear, blankets to baskets, and during the period, collaborations will be launched one after another, so I would like to explore the shop regularly.

Freedom spreading from genderless

A collection created jointly by BYREDO Creative Director Ben Gorham and makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench has appeared. Colorful kolor sticks are 16 colors that you can enjoy freely regardless of your skin color or gender. Eye color is attractive because it ignores marketing and reflects both sensibilities. “I often wear red lips at work, but personally I want to try dark colors. When it comes to women's makeup, your eyes stay on the kolor and white eyeline accents that men don't usually do," says Shunzu Ota.

Next, I raised a surprise voice in front of the fragrance tester and was impressed by the scent of "BLANCHE". Blanche, inspired by "soap-like refreshing smell", means "white" in French, characterized by classic beauty and pure scent that blends middle notes with top notes of white roses, peppers and aldehyde. In BYREDO perfume, there are stories that connect emotions and memories with scents, such as private memories and imaginary worlds where Ben Gorham was born and raised. Made from carefully selected high-quality ingredients, all produced in Sweden. It is a gem that focuses not only on fragrance but also on the transparency of glass.
