LOEWE's Spring and Summer 2022 collection focuses on the world of Manierism seen in the late Renaissance. Manierism is an art style that can be seen from the middle to the end of the 16th century with the aim of creating a new beauty that surpasses the beauty of nature by incorporating twists, distortions, and technical contrasts of light and darkness, and incorporating some "unnaturalness". Creative Director Jonathan Anderson was inspired by Jacopo da Pontolmo's masterpiece "The Cross Descent", a manierism painter who was active in Florence in the 16th century, and ransom with the sensibility and passion drawn there, a generous sweet pastel color, a volume like a swirling drape and a big wave, and a flow-like movement. It's like a mirror of a surprise house in an amusement park and a collection of new aesthetics in the great hall of the Manierism incident. In modern fashion, where it is said that it is difficult to create a unique world view and originality, Jonathan dared to make an experimental attempt and stepped into a new field.

Since it was released in the Spring and Summer Men's Collection by Jonathan Anderson in 2015, the "puzzle bag small" has been developed in various colors and sizes and has become a cult-like popularity. This original design features a three-dimensional form created by geometric combination of more than 60 parts created by precise cutting techniques. This season, the icon back features a grayish nuance color. In addition, "Amasona Bag", which has a long history and timeless design among LOEWE bags, is a spring-like lime yellow with vegetation budding.

What are commonalities between craftsmanship and models?

"The knit dress I'm wearing today was a piece that I could experience the 'new roebe'. Color like cotton candy and fluffy feeling…Jonathan's playfulness grows and excites us. The appearance of the shoulders and back was also healthy, and I thought it was very cute. Roebe is a brand that combines craft knowledge with new technologies with imaginary ideas. I feel that there is something that can be connected to the profession of model. Even with the same pose, if you put your shoulders inside in millimeters, the impression will change completely, or if you stretch your back a little, you will have a different impression. Just like delicate craftsmanship, if you make adjustments little by little, you will find new ways of fascinating and unique angles. I also like the creative process of creating together with everyone, and I would like to find myself that I haven't seen yet and don't know in the future through a "craftmanship" model."

To celebrate the release of the "Spirited Away" capsule collection, a huge kaonasi Art Wall appeared in Shibuya PARCO. "The world of Ghibli and the LOEWE are exquisitely matched. Leaving a good sense of discomfort, Chihiro's characters are properly dropped into clothes and accessories, and it is finished wonderfully! I'm always impressed by why LOEWE and Ghibli are so good. It's a very cute and fashionable collection, and every time "Oh, I want it again!" (laughs)." Free, epic, and experimental LOEWE creation will delight us in a new era.
