"H.P.DECO Living with a sense of art" is a lifestyle shop run by "H.P.FRANCE", which looks like an antique shop nestled in a downtown European town. As the name suggests, miscellaneous goods, interiors, clothes, and jewelry collected from all over the world are as beautiful as art works. "I originally displayed a lot of art works on the wall of my house. But what's cool if you put it in your forehead? (laughs). I think it's awkward, and I've been doing it for the past few years. But I've started to decorate it again, so I'm interested in things that are lined up here."

Nailed to the decoupage plate
What Asano was looking at was the decoupage plate of "JOHN DERIAN" (John Delian). The vintage picture books and magazine designs collected by the designer themselves are pasted on glass using a technique called decoupage, and each one is handmade. In particular, Mr. Asano said, "I often draw flower paintings, but I wish I could do so well.……"What I saw was a plate with a decoupled picture of a pale purple orchid.

Artistic vases
Mr. Asano, who loves flowers and art. There were many other things in the shop that stimulated the curiosity. He seemed to be particularly interested in the vases of the hand-blew glass brand "La Soufflerie" and humorous art stamps by Paris-based artist Sebastian, and listened seriously to the explanation of the store staff.

Tadanobu Asano
Born on November 27, 1973, from Kanagawa Prefecture. Screen debuted with "Bata Ashi Goldfish" in 1990.
