It's like I've been lost in an Asian street.
Future food experience in a chaotic space

"Kome to circus" is a restaurant specializing in game and insect cuisine, headquartered in Takadanobaba. Among the B1F and CHAOS KITCHEN at Shibuya PARCO, where there are many unique restaurants, it has a unique presence with an impactful appearance and a unique menu. Insect food recommended by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as a savior of food shortages associated with population growth and global warming. The impact on the environment is lower than that of livestock animals, and it is attracting attention from the perspective of SDGs. Let's try the future food experience together with the rare animal diet.

I'm losing food!
Insect dishes that attract attention as a sustainable food

"Eating 6 kinds of Insects", which is a combination of corn, bee, silkworm, great diving beetle, Bamboo worm and turtle, is a popular menu with many fans coming to the store for this purpose. Mr. Suwon is curiously staring at the plate that retains the prototype of the insect. When I tried it, I said, "It's ok at all than I thought. The fried bamboo worm is crispy like a French fries. It's sweet because the bee is eating honey. The turtle I dismantled has a sweet scent like La France, and the expression of a salty banana is perfect!" 。

If you value the ease of eating, use sweets.
Superfood to save food shortages

Next is dessert time using insects. The most popular "MUSHI parfait" is topped with crispy koologies, meal worms, and sakura beetles instead of corn flakes. "There are only caterpillars eating the leaves of cherry blossoms, and the taste of cherry blossoms faintly," says Mizuhara. "MUSHI Dango", which is decorated with three kinds of vegetable bean paste, bee-no-ko, locusts, and silkworms, is also perori with a normal sweetness. "There were some things that I thought were delicious and some weren't, but I ate wonderfully. Insect food that contains abundant proteins and minerals, emits less feed and greenhouse gases, and is attracting attention from the perspective of the SDGs. I want you to experience it.”

Without preconceptions
I want to continue challenging with an open mind

In fact, Mr. Suwon said that until a year or two ago, he was not good at insects and did not touch them. “I wanted to release my stereotype of self against insects, and I tried to accept it instead of rejecting it. I'm glad that I can finally eat it, not just touch it (laughs). We also received eight rare types of tan, such as crocodiles and deer, but we will review discarded items such as insects and pests to give new value. We reaffirmed the importance of earth-friendly cycles, both in fashion and lifestyle. And you have to challenge everything without prejudice! I want to be open-minded in anything from now on."
