It's as if I got lost in the Asian stall street.
Future food experience to taste in a chaotic space

"Rice and Circus" is a specialty store specializing in game and insect cuisine, with its head office in Takadanobaba. Among the B1F and CHAOS KITCHEN of Shibuya PARCO, which has many unique restaurants, it has a unique presence with its appearance with plenty of impact and a unique menu. Insect food recommended by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as a savior of food shortages associated with population growth and global warming. It has a lower impact on the environment than livestock animals, and has attracted attention from the perspective of SDGs. Let's try the future food experience together with the rare beast food.

I don't like it.
Insect dish attracting attention as a sustainable food

A combination of crickets, beeko, silkworms, great diving beetle, Bamboo worms, and turtles, is a popular menu with many fans visiting the store for this purpose. Mr. Suwon is curiously staring at the plate that almost retains the prototype of insects. When I tasted it, "It's completely okay than I thought." The fried bamboo worm is crispy as if it were fries. Beeko is eating honey, so it's sweet after all. The turtle that I dismantled has a sweet scent like La France, and the expression of salty banana is perfect!" 。

Superfood to save food shortages

Next is dessert time using insects. The most popular "MUSHI parfait" is topped with crispy crickets and millworms instead of corn flakes. "There are only caterpillars eating cherry leaves, so it tastes faintly," says Suwon. "MUSHI dumplings", which are decorated with beeko, locusts, and silkworms on three kinds of vegetable bean paste, also have a normal sweetness. "There were some things that I thought were delicious, and some weren't, but I had a wonderful meal. Insect food, which contains abundant proteins and minerals, emits less feed and greenhouse gases, and is attracting attention from the perspective of SDGs. I hope you will experience it."

Don't be bound by prejudice
I want to continue challenging with an open mind

Actually, Mr. Suwon said that he was not good at insects until one or two years ago and did not touch it. "I wanted to release my stereotype self against insects, and tried to accept it instead of rejecting it. I'm happy not only to touch it but also to finally eat it (laughs). We received eight rare types of tans, such as crocodile and deer, but we reviewed discarded items such as insects and pests to give new value. I have reaffirmed the importance of an earth-friendly cycle in both fashion and lifestyle. And I have to try anything without being bound by prejudice! I want to be open-minded in everything from now on."
