Jean Jullien Exhibition 「PURPLE PONY」

A new solo exhibition by French artist Jean Jullien.
This solo exhibition, which will be held for the first time in four years, expresses Jean Julian's creative process of blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction, gently confusing and entertaining audiences.
We will exhibit 19 new works depicting things that you see, feel, and love, focusing on everyday life in Japan.

In this exhibition, Jean Julian looks at everyday life in Japan, draws what he sees, feels, and loves, and quietly asks why he is attracted to it. In modern society, fiction is trapped in media such as books and movies, and lies are often treated in negative ways, like fake news or artificial reality. In such a situation, Julian accepts fiction not as an escape from reality, but as a gaze to love the familiar world, and tries to gently revisit the landscape and emotions there from a new perspective.
The city of Tokyo is a stage where imagination and everyday life are mixed. There, fiction penetrates into the city, the people, and the overflowing image, and it feels as if the reality itself has spread a little and touched a dream.
"PURPLE PONY" freely travels between such "reality" and "imagination" and draws intimate reflections on affection, imagination, and the simple act of "living".
A step away from the story of adventures and adversity depicted at JUJUJU's Castle, currently being held at NANZUKA ART INSTITUTE (Shanghai), "PURPLE PONY" offers a gentler, gentler, and a love letter-like exhibition.
